The trade operations group is responsible for trading all client accounts for Ritholtz Wealth Management in an accurate and timely manner. The role of trading includes initial investment of accounts, investing additional deposits, raising cash for withdrawal requests, and trading for client requested model changes. This role within the trade operations group will provide back office support for trading of accounts.
This position is Hybrid with regular travel to our office for in-person collaboration. Applicants must be in the Chicago or greater NY area to be considered. The salary base may range from $60,000 - $90,000. The salary offered will be determined by, but not limited to, experience, education, skill, location, and credentials.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Allocate, execute, and reconcile trades
- Manages investment portfolio models trading requests for fixed income and equities
- Identify trade discrepancies as well as mitigate the risks related to the trade life cycle
- Handle model setups and serve as model management subject matter expert
- Process and support of tasks such as: placing and relaying equity not held orders/ block trades, placing large and complex mutual fund and option trades, processing large trade allocations, processing systematic purchases and redemptions, large and complex trade corrections, taking advisor escalations, and other various duties as assigned
- Will be required to master the complexities of many equity and fixed income products as well as gain a solid understanding of our business model and infrastructure
- Working with portfolio managers to build and monitor risk in portfolios, including management of cash flows
- Work with technology to increase automation, improve quality of data, and create new trading tools
- Implement tax trading and serve as subject matter expert
- Extensive knowledge of risk management with ability to identify and assess market risk associated with large and complex orders
- Experience trading Stocks, Fixed Income, ETFs, and mutual funds is required
- Assist in developing & implementing quality control measures and assuring the measures are carried out in an accurate and timely fashion by the entire team
- Maintain and rebalance portfolios across strategies
Knowledge, Skill & Ability:
- Must have working knowledge of the securities industry, of various types of investment products (Mutual Funds, ETFs, Individual Stocks, Individual Bonds, Separately Managed Accounts) and block trading methods
- Demonstrates accuracy for all aspects of tasks
- Keen interest in markets
- Manage relationships with strategists
- iRebel, Charles Schwab Portfolio Rebalancer, Fidelity Rebalance, SmartLeaf & Orion Eclipse
- Must be highly organized, possess strong attention to detail, and demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and adjust to changing priorities
- Ability to critically analyze information and make sound recommendations
- Ability to leverage data and analytics to improve business outcomes
- Must demonstrate professionalism and diplomacy and be able to work with a variety of personalities
- Executes independently, including doing analytic work to come to a decision
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
- Candidates must possess active securities industry regulatory licenses for this position (Series 7 + Series 66 or Series 65)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the financial services or related industry
